HOW TO TREAT MY TIGHT FORESKIN WITHOUT SURGERY
Are you a child, parent or guardian? If so, this page is NOT for you: click here.
Are you a teenager or adult with physiological phimosis? Then learn to treat this condition on your own, by stretching the foreskin opening and/or the frenulum. And don't forget to wash your hands: before - for love of yourself; and after - for the love of thy neighbor.
stretching a tight foreskin opening
Can you already fit two fingers inside the foreskin? If so, proceed as follows:
If you still can not fit two fingers inside, do it like this:
WHICH PART SHOULD I STRETCH?
The phimotic ring (also called frenar band), which is the narrowest part of the foreskin, may not necessarily be at the extremity. If you still have a very tight foreskin, you may need to pull the skin back a little to reveal the ring.
Focus on the phimotic ring. For the stretching to work, you will have to pull in two opposite senses of the same direction, which must be perpendicular to the shaft of the penis.
BUT MY FORESKIN OPENING IS SO TIGHT THAT i CAN'T EVEN GRASP ITS EDGE...
In that case, you're going to have to improvise. You can, for example, use two knitting needles as if they were tiny fingers in order to stretch the phimotic ring.
But beware: when it comes to improvising and using creativity, avoid objects with sharp edges, or devices that may fail open (such as tweezers, for example). Be aware of the risk of injury. Also keep in mind that this is not a "break-free" deal, it is a gradual process. If you use too much force you will generate injuries that will further tighten the phimotic ring when scar tissue is eventually formed. |
The good news is that, as a rule, there are no cases of physiological phimosis due to a tight foreskin opening that can not be solved by gradual stretching, however disappointing the starting point may seem to be. At first your phimosis may seem like an insurmountable mountain - but once you start and maintain a daily stretching routine, it's all downhill.
STRETCHING THE FRENULUM
If your opening is wide enough, but the frenulum too short (preventing total retraction of the foreskin), you have frenulum breve. Use the following method:
IMPORTANT
Both for the frenulum and for the phimotic ring: pull gently, slightly below the pain threshold. Pain is a sign that you may be injuring your skin. It can't be repeated enough: lesions cause the tissue to contract as part of the regenerative process, thereby further tightening the foreskin opening or further shortening the frenulum.
SHOULD I USE SOME OINTMENT OR CREAM?
Corticosteroid ointments or creams are not absolutely necessary but may facilitate and accelerate the progress achieved by stretching. Ointment is better than cream because it tends to stay longer at the application site and penetrates the skin more effectively.
Several studies have demonstrated the efficacy of ointments and creams containing the steroid betamethasone valerate at a concentration of 0.1% (1mg/g) or 0.2% (2mg/g) in the treatment of phimosis.
The ointment for phimosis should only be applied at the phimotic ring or the frenulum, depending on what you are treating (avoid applying it to other areas, such as the glans). Scrub the ointment into the skin until the substance disappears. Apply after the stretching session.
BUT HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
It depends. Treating phimosis without surgery can take a few weeks, a few months or even longer.
It depends on the starting point: does your foreskin have to be stretched only a few millimeters, or a few centimeters? If your starting point is a score 5 "pinhole" phimosis, it can take even more than a year to reach score 0 with the penis erect.
It depends on your dedication: in the diagrams above we suggest, for convenience, two daily sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening. But nothing prevents you from doing it more often or for longer periods of time. The more you stretch, the faster the progress. You can even take advantage of your restroom trips for a quick session.

Once a daily stretching routine is initiated, all you have to do is keep on track. But be careful not to step into any trap along the way:
